English gentleman, Simon Tabron, tucks up a lofty invert. This was one of many amazing tricks that earned him first place in Saturday's qualifier.

French Canadian pro, Pierre Luc Gagnon, is a former X Games Gold medalist and winner of the Munich LG Action Sports World Tour stop.

Taig Khris throws a stale grab high above the Trocadero.

Trocadero - When the skies opened up and dumped rain on the BMX park comp, it looked like it was going to be a day of baguettes and brie for all the riders, but shortly after noon, the skies cleared and the people of Paris gathered on the Trocadero to witness some of the best skating ever seen on the streets of France.

Eito Yasutoko Kisses French Gold:
All eyes were on Marc Englehart , who tried (and almost pulled) the 1440 in Munich, but once again, the trick eluded him in Paris. Fabiola da Silva , on the other hand, pulled her double flip for the first time ever. Unfortunately, it came well after the buzzer, so it didn't count in her score. Hometown hero, Taig Khris , whose photo image was all over the Paris event advertising, pulled a bronze medal with a perfect double back flip and a switch 720. Takeshi Yasutoko nailed a double flat spin and a bunch of sick liptricks, but suffered for an unoriginal line, and ended up with the silver. And Eito Yasutoko took the gold with an almost perfect run that included a double flat spin, a double back flip and a double back flip 180.

Americans Dominate Skateboarding Park:
Crowds stood three deep around the park course as Paris Skate Culture ams battled seasoned pros on the LG park course. New York City's Billy Rohan put together a smooth line that featured a backside disaster to revert over the spine and a 50/50 down the bank box to take the bronze. Juergen Horrwarth did a run that was more vert than street, but solid enough to land him in second. And the gold went to Ronnie Creager , who nailed a stylish 360 over the spine and a frontside kickflip on the bank.

Finally, A Frenchman On Top of The Podium (Sort Of):
Sandro Dias was the crowd favorite as he stood on top of the roll-in waiting to be dropped in. He opened with a massive 540, and almost pulled the 900, but still managed to nail the bronze. " Jake Brown was blasting," said Neal Hendrix . He stuck a huge 720 and put together a clean line to take 2nd. And Pierre-Luc Gagnon of Montreal, Canada (That's French Canada in case you didn't know) took the gold with an amazing run that featured a perfect 720 at the very end.
