Trocadero - The LG Action Sports World Tour kicked off its fourth stop of 2005 in Paris, France. In one of the most picturesque locations imaginable, thousands of fans gathered at the Trocadero just a few hundred yards from the Eiffel Tower to watch the best vert and street athletes qualify for Sunday's big competition.
Aussie Legend Dave Dillewaard Holds Nothing Back:
On the BMX park course,
Koji Kraft
put together an exciting run and then evacuated the contents of his stomach onto the top of the five-foot quarterpipe. At the end of the final round, he sat in 2nd behind
Dave Dillewaard
, who dominated the field with tricks like a 360 tailwhip over the box and a no-hander 180 over the spine.
Gathering Storm Inspires Epic BMX Vert Contest:
As gray clouds gathered on the horizon, word spread quickly that Saturday's prelim results might go on record as final standings, and riders did their runs as if their prize money depended on it.
Tom Stober
threw a no-handed flair and still ended in 6th place. Even
John Parker
's double-whip fared no better than a third place finish.
Jay Miron
did one of the best runs of his life, but at the end of the day,
Simon Tabron
dominated the field with a perfect 900.
Skateboard Showdown Between X Games Gold Medalist and the LG World Champion:
The skateboard vert contest featured huge airs by
Jake Brown
and
Terence Bougdour
of Menthon St Bernard, France. The 2004 LG World Champion,
Sandro Dias
did a solid run that started with a backside 540.
Anthony Furlong
put together a packed run that featured a sweet fakie to fakie 540 tailgrab.
Pierre-Luc Gagnon
pulled off a cab indy heelflip, which never should have seen the light of day, and pulled into 1st place.
Japanese Duo Crush French Champion:
Fabiola da Silva
skated one of the best runs of her life in Saturday's inline vert qualifier with huge, stylish airs and a fakie 900. Paris legend
Taig Khris
, came out swinging in Saturday's prelims, throwing his signature garfunkel, an inverted 900 and a switch 720, but he was no match for
Eito Yasutoko
and his brother Takeshi who put together solid runs filled with signature tricks at impossible heights.
Inline Celebrities Converge At LG Paris Park Event:
The top ten in Saturday's inline park contest were a veritable who's who of rollerblading's finest.

and LG Munich 2005 Gold medalist,
Brian Shima
put together solid runs, but couldn't contend with French legends
Steven Aleil

Anthony Avella

Stephane Alfano
.
Bruno Lowe
redeemed his Munich upset with a superbly crafted run, and
Brian Aragon
laced a masterful line around the course, but in the end, it was
Chris Haffey
with his unique blend of grace and power, who took the Paris LG Gold.
